Common sense? Not in Miami –
The laughable organization known as the Miami Dolphins are kicking the shenanigans up a notch, as the team will hold an on-field celebration honoring the ‘72 Perfect Season during halftime of the Dolphins-Ravens game on Sunday.
So wait, let me make sure I’m reading this correctly…
The Dolphins are honoring the last shred of dignity they collectively have as an organization by celebrating a 35 year old undefeated season during a year where they’re not only winless, but will also have their sacred record completely shattered by a bitter division rival?
Okay, just making sure.
Coincidentally, I will be in attendance on Sunday with camera in hand, to document this unprecedented, yet fascinating turn of events. Expect a healthy Photo Blog entry to follow.
In other local marketing blunders-err-news, the Marlins, fresh off of the debacle that saw them trade the faces of the franchise in Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis while leaving action shots of the two atop of their official website for hours after the trade was completed (the pictures have since been replaced–first by a blank background, then by Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla), are now reaching for another face to market their upcoming select-a-seat, and really, what better face is there than this mug?
It’s not like Olsen, his agent, and team President David Samson had a falling out last season over Olsen’s legal issues or anything. I wonder if the “game used memorabilia” they’re promoting are old Cabrera and Willis jerseys…You Gotta Be Here!
Struggling to keep up with the pack, the Heat have unveiled an “All You Can Eat” ticket package. That’s right fatties, for only $45 bucks, you too can sit in the 400 level-err-“Uptown” and gorge away your sorrows until you look like a real-life version of Burnie! The Miami Heat: Keeping you fat, one loss at a time!
You couldn’t make this stuff up…
